2017: Dr. Rajiv Modi, CMD, Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd was a part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. As a part of the #MakeinIndia Lounge, he addressed the session on State of Jharkhand.
The St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), is Russia’s most prestigious business event. It brought together 14,000 business representatives, heads of international organisations, officials, experts, scientists, and media from more than 143 countries.
This year, as India and Russia mark 70 years of diplomatic relations, India was invited as the ‘Guest Country’ at SPIEF 2017. With the government’s “Make in India” initiative, which aims to invigorate the country’s manufacturing sector and enhance India’s global competitiveness, newer opportunities of collaboration between India and Russia are being explored. The “Make in India” Lounge that showcased the accomplishments and potential of focus sectors, including Defence, Oil and Gas, Infrastructure and Power, among others.
Dr. Rajiv I. Modi joined the Board of Directors of Indian Multinational Pharmaceutical company Cadila Pharmaceuticals in 1991. Dr. Modi holds a Ph.D. in Biological Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. He also holds an M.Sc. in Biochemical Engineering from University College, London and a B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai, India.
