ANTIALLERGIC / ANTIHISTAMINICS

CETRIZINE Antiallergic ( Non sedative Antihistaminic) Cetirizine Cetirizine Tablet : 10 mg Tablet;  Allergic Rhinitis, Occular Symptoms like redness, lacrimation and itching, urticaria dermographism, acute allergic reactions due to drug, food and insect bites. Adults : 10 mg daily; max. recommanded odse 20 mg / day. Children : Not recommended for children below 6 months. 6months - 23 months age : 2 - 5 mg once daily, 12 to 23 months age : can be increased to max. dose of 5 mg /day given as 2.5 mg twice a day.     Dose as per body weight : 30 kg & less : 5 mg once daily; more than 30 kg : 10 mg once daily.

ANTIBIOTICS / ANTIBACTERIALS / ANTI INFECTIVE

AMCIN 

Anti Infective (Aminoglycosoide ) Amikacin Sulphate 100 mg Amikacin Sulphate Inj. : 100 mg,
250 mg, 500 mg
bacteraemias, septicaemias, respiratory tract, bones and joints, CNS (including meningitis), skin, soft tissue, intra-abdominal infections (including peritonis) burns and post-operative infections. Adults : 15 mg/kg body weight daily in 2 div. Doses for upto 10 days Total max. 1.5 gm / day. UTI :  7.5 mg/kg body weight daily in 2 div. Doses. Children : 15 mg/kg/24 hours body weight  in divided in every 8 hours. Neonates : 10 mg/kg body weight as loading dose as followed by 7.5 mg/kg every 12 hours. I.V. route dosage is identical, injection spread over 2-3 mins or a slow i.v. infusion spread over a period of 30-60 mins and for infants and neonates 1-2 hours.

CALTHROX 

Macrolide Antibiotic Erythromycin Esteolate Erythromycin Esteolate Tablet : 250 mg Upper Respiratory Tract Infections, Acute Pneumonia, Wound and Burn Infections, Acne Vulgaris, As an alternative antibiotic to Penicillin to allergic patients. In severe Impetigo unresponsive to topical antibiotics and in foliculitis. Adults : 250 - 500 mg 3-4 times daily        Children : 30-50 mg /kg/24 hrs. divided in every 6 hours.

CAMPICILLIN

Anti Infective (Broad Spectrum Penicillin) Ampicillin Ampicillin Capsules : 250 mg, 500 mg; Ampicillin Injection : 250 mg, 500 mg Infections caused by Gram positive and negative organisms (respiratory tract, soft tissue, gonoccocal, G.I. And genito urinary infections), meningitis, chronic bronchitis, otitis media, sinusitis Adults : 1-2 gms. Daily. In divided doses every 4-6 hours.

Children :
50-100 mg/kg body wt. In 3-4 divided doses. New Born : (less than 7 days) I.v. /I.m. : 50-75 mg/kg body wt. Above 7 years : 75-100mg/kg body wt/day every 12 hours 

CAMPILOX

Broad Spectrum Penicillin Ampicillin + Cloxacillin DT Tablet : Ampicillin Trihydrate equi.  To Ampicillin 250mg+ Cloxacillin Sodium equi. To 250mg; Capsule : 500 mg   Respiratory, Urinary, Skin, Soft Tissue, Bone and Joint Infections, ENT, Meningitis, Genito-Urinary Infections, Surgical and Gynaecological perioperative prophylaxis Adult : 250 mg (Ampicillin) + 250 (Cloxacillin) 4-6 hourly.

CIPGEN 

Anti Infective  (Fluroquinolone) Ciprofloxacin Tablet  Ciprofloxacin Tablet : 250 mg, 500 mg Respiratory Tract, Urinary Tract, ENT, skin & soft tissue, Intra-abdominal, GI Tract, gyanecological, Bone and joint, sever systemic infections, gonorrhoea, prostatis, throat Infection, enteric fever and eye Infections. The dose of Ciprofloxacin is determined by the severity of the infection, type of infective organism and age, weight and renal function of patient. The recommended dosage schedule of Ciprofloxacin is : 1) Uncomplicated UTI : 250 mg every 12 hours. 2) Prostatis and complicated UTI in patients with severe underlying structural abnormalities : 500 mg every 12 hours.

3) Lower Respiratory Tract Infections : Mild: 250 mg, moderate severe : 500 mg; all every 12 hours, Dosage of 750 mg every 12 hours should be preferably be used in case of Infection with resistant Gram-positive bacteria, 4) ENT Infetions : 500 to 750 mg every 12 hours., 5) Bone and Joint Infections : 500 to 750 mg every 12 hours 6)Enteric Fever : 500 to 750 mg every 12 hours 7) Gynaecological Infections : 500 mg every 12 hours 8) Gonorrhoea : 250 mg single dose, 9) Septicemia, Bacterimia and Intra-abdomina infections : Initial IV Ciprofloxacin therapy may be followed by oral 500 to 750 mg every 12 hours Children : Not Recommanded

CIPRODAC

COTRIMAXAZOLE DS

(Sulphonamide)
Trimethoprim + Sulpha- methoxazole (Double Strength) Tablet : Sulpha- methoxazole 800mg + Trimethoprim 160mg Respiratory Tract, Urinary Tract, Bacterial Dysentry, bacterial Diahorrea, enteric fever, acute gonococcal urethritis, prophylaxis and treatment of pneumocysitis carinii infection, chancoid, skin and soft tissue, ENT Infections.  Adults : 160 mg Trimthoprim + Sulpha-methoxazole 800mg every 12 hours for 7 days ( 5 days for shgellosis) Children : 6-12 mg Trimthoprim + Sulpha-methoxazole 30mg / kg / 24 hours div. every 2 hours 

COTRIMAXAZOLE SS

AntiInfective ( Sulphonamide) Trimethoprim + Sulpha- methoxazole (Single Strength) Tablet : Sulpha- methoxazole 400mg + Trimethoprim 80mg  Respiratory Tract, Urinary Tract, Bacterial Dysentry, bacterial Diahorrea, enteric fever, acute gonococcal urethritis, prophylaxis and treatment of pneumocysitis carinii infection, chancoid, skin and soft tissue, ENT Infections.  Adults : 160 mg Trimthoprim + Sulpha-methoxazole 800mg every 12 hours for 7 days ( 5 days for shgellosis) Children : 6-12 mg Trimthoprim + Sulpha-methoxazole 30mg / kg / 24 hours div. every 2 hours 

GENFLOX

AntiInfective
(Quinolone)
Ofloxacin  Ofloxacin Tablet : 200mg Respiratory Tract, Genito-Urinary Tract, gastro-intestinal, skin and soft tissue  infections. Peritonitis, gonorrhoea Adults : 200-400 mg daily usually for 5-7 days depending on type & severity of infection. Doses greater than 400 mg should be given in 2 divided doses. UTI : 200-800 mg daily. Lower respiratory : 400-800 mg daily. Gonorrhoea : 400 mg as single dose. Prostatis : 300 mg twice a day upto 6 weeks. Children : Not recommended

GENTAMICIN 

Anti Infective (Aminoglycoside) Gentamicin Gentamicin 40 mg Injection : 2ml, 10 ml, 20 ml Valuable in critically ill patients, impaired host defence, pseudomonas or proteus infections, urinary tract infections, burn, abscesses, osteomellitus, middle ear infection, septicaemia, bacteraemia, skin and soft tissue infections, post-operative infections. Adults : 3-5 mg/kg body wt. I.m. daily in divided doses 8 hourly. For 7-10 days. Children :  6-7.5 mg/kg/ 24 hours I.m. every 8 hours.

NORFLOXACIN

Anti Infective  ( Quinolone) Norfloxacin Norfloxacin Tablet : 400 mg Uro-genital infections, Typhoid fever, acute bacterial gastroenteritis, gonorrhoea, Prophylaxis of sepsis in neutropenic patients, STD Adults : Typhoid fever 400 mg twice daily for 14 days, UTI : 400 mg twice daily for 3 days to 3 weeks, Gonorrhoea : 800 mg as single dose. Acute bacterial gastro enteritis : 400 mg 2-3 times daily for 5 days. Prophylaxis of sepsis in neuro penic patients 400 mg 2-3 times daily upto 8 weeks Children : Not Recommended

ROXIVISTA

Macrolide Antibiotic Roxithromycin Roxithromycin Tablet : 50 mg DT, 150mg ; Roxithromycin
Suspension :
30 ml ( 50 mg)
Pneumonia, Acute Bronchitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsilitis, genital infections Adults : 150 mg twice daily atleast 15 min before meal      

Children : 5-8 mg /kg/day in two divided doses for not more than 10 days. 

SPARVISTA

Anti Infective ( Quinolone) Sparfloxacin  Sparfloxacin Tablet : 200 mg Community acquired pneumonia, Lower respiratory tract infection, gonococcal and non-gonoccocal urethritis in male, COPD, acute otitis media and gynaecological infections, URTI, UTI, opthalmological infections, and soft tissue infections, GI infection, prostatis and gonorrhoea Adults : Lower respiratory tract Infections : 400 mg single loading doseon the day followed by 200 mg/ day for 10 days. Gonococcal Urethritis : 200 mg as single dose. Children : Not recommended
